Giving Update: Shoes for Baby2Baby
Happy recipient of a drive-thru pick up during quarantine
In the last nine years, this big-hearted organization, led by Co-Presidents Kelly Sawyer Patricof and Norah Weinstein, has distributed over 100 million items to children in homeless shelters, domestic violence programs, foster care, hospitals and underserved schools as well as children who have lost everything in the wake of disaster.
Volunteers sorting and packing
Baby2Baby reaches hundreds of thousands of children all over the country through their partner organizations. Although they are champions at distributing diapers (1 in 3 families struggle to provide diapers for their children), they also distribute backpacks, clothing, shoes, cribs, blankets, bottles, shampoo, and towels to low-income and disaster-stricken families.
In 2019, Baby2Baby campaigned to repeal the sales tax on diapers, and as of January 2020, that sales tax has been eliminated in California. Amazing and important work!
With COVID-19, the demand for diapers, formula and other essential items is higher than ever and Baby2Baby is working to meet the needs of children through in-kind and monetary donations from corporate sponsors.
If you bought shoes during our buy-one-give-one campaign, thank you for your donation to Baby2Baby and if you’re looking to support them further: https://baby2baby.org/
We’re proud to partner with an organization doing such important work. Look out for future buy-one-give-one drives at Livie & Luca so we can keep putting healthy well-made shoes on all kiddos.
